Each company who obtains a Specific Radioactive Materials License needs to submit their training program to the appropriate regulatory agency for approval. So, if you have a Specific License, one aspect of that application is the REFRESHER TRAINING for your people. Our experience has been that with companies working with AEC for an original assessment typically commit do attend an annual refresher.
The REFRESHER TRAINING can include, but not limited to:
- CHANGES IN REGULATIONS
- CHANGES IN THE RADIATION PROTECTION MANUAL (especially right after a renewal)
- OBSERVATIONS BY THE SITE RSO AS TO WHAT SELECTED AUTHORIZED USERS NEED
- PERFORMING AN UPCOMING CAMPAIGN, SUCH AS LEAK TESTS, INVENTORY, OR RELOCATION OF GAUGES.
- THE USDOT HAZMAT TRAINING IN SHIPPING RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS.
Check your Radiation Protection Manual and check the training frequency commitment for your company. AEC can prepare and present a customized REFRESHER TRAINING for you or for your RSO to give to your Authorized Users.
Since your workers do not do radiation protection activities continuously, STAYING ON TOP OF THE RADIATION PROGRAM requirements is important. One method is by having an EFFECTIVE refresher training program. And, if you become an AEC customer, we will customize the training program and a frequency to meet your needs.
