Activity Conversion 6.1 Instructions

Hopefully this program is intuitive and doesn’t require a lot of head-scratching or colorful language.  If it is a nuisance, email your complaints and/or suggestions to programs@aec-radiation.com.

The program starts with Activity and Dose conversions.  The white boxes and white buttons are what you select.  On the left, enter the numeric value then select the units.  To calculate Specific Activities, you can select mass and volume units on the bottom.  If there are none, select “none.”

As you make selections, the program automatically calculates the results.  This result will be displayed in the red box.

Use the drop down box of radionuclides or type in the nuclide (such as P-32).  Once you hit tab and move to the time interval box, the radionuclde and its half-life will be displayed in the red boxes.  In the white box, enter the interval and select the button.  The program will automatically calculate the radioactivity in the units you have selected.

This program is FREEWARE.  You are free to use it on as many computers as you wish. You can also give it to anyone you wish. I don’t care.  You are not, however, allowed to make any money off this program. That would be just plain rude.
