40 Hour Online RSO Training For Industrial Gauge Users

TOPIC 6: Gauge Care & Maintenance

Let’s explore care and maintenance of a gauge.

For gauges that are attached to tanks, it is possible that access to the tank may be required.  Tank access usually requires a confined spaced entry permit and implementation of specific safety procedures.  Most of these procedures do not take into account the gauge, which may be open subjecting a worker to a radiation dose while working in the tank.  It is up to the RSO to ensure density gauges are closed and locked prior to entry into vessels.
